The PREFIGURE project, an EU-funded initiative that addresses the pressing issues of the housing crisis amid energy transitions, has launched a new website that serves as a resource where visitors can learn about the project’s aims.
PREFIGURE focuses on examining the existing and evolving geographies of uneven housing conditions and aims to “create pathways towards an equitable green and digital transition laying the foundations for the development of energy-efficient, affordable and environmentally sustainable housing.”
Professor Guy Baeten heads the involvement of the IUR as part of the network that includes the Center for the Study of Democracy in Bulgaria, IDRA Barcelona Urban Research Institute in Spain, University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Fondazione ICONS in Italy, University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development in Germany, and the Estonian Union of Co-operative Housing Associations in Estonia.
This diverse group brings together expertise and resources, ensuring a comprehensive approach to addressing the intertwined challenges of housing and energy sustainability across Europe.
