We are excited to welcome Malmö-based photographer Ikram Abdulkadir as our artist in residence during the fall of 2026. While based at IUR, Ikram plans to explore the performance lecture as a medium. Her startup seminar will occur on Tuesday, September 22nd, though she plans to stay active in the residence through the autumn.
About Ikram:
Ikram Abdulkadir (b. 1995, Nairobi) is a Malmö-based Swedish-Somali photographer and multi-disciplinary artist. Her work follows a documentary tradition, focusing on family and individuals in familiar urban and domestic settings to explore themes of care and community. Her photography is held in several public and institutional collections, including Moderna Museet, Nationalmuseum, Malmö konstmuseum and Rencontres d’Arles. She is a recipient of the Sven and Ellida Hjort’s exhibition grant and the Arbetets museum Documentary Photo award.
