New Book from IUR Member Steve Marr: “DIY Urbanism in Africa: Politics and Practice”
Steve Marr’s new book, DIY Urbanism in Africa: Politics and Practice (co-edited with Patience Mususa, The Nordic Africa Institute), was published as an e-book by Bloomsbury on November 2 (November 30th for the paperback). Through a series of case studies from across the Continent, the collection explores the tactics deployed by the occupants of Africa’s urban margins to address spatial, infrastructure, and socio-economic precarities, as well as the political implications of such efforts.
