We welcome Valeria Raimondi, visiting scholar at the IUR
After a long pause in our visiting scholars’ program, we are very happy to finally receive Valeria Raimondi, who will be joining us for the month of November.
Valeria Raimondi is an urban geographer. In 2019 she was awarded a joint PhD degree in Urban Studies from the Gran Sasso Science Institute and the Scuola Universitaria Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa, Italy. Her research is characterised by an interdisciplinary approach at the crossroad of urban geography, critical migration and border studies, and critical citizenship studies. As an activist researcher, she is part of an international network of scholars engaged in the study of transnational migrant solidarity, state repression, and resistance to criminalisation.
Amongst other activities that will be announced shortly, Valeria Raimondi will give a talk within the MIM seminar series titled, “Spaces and practices of self-organised reception: The case of the City Plaza hotel in Athens” .
Welcome to the IUR, Valeria!
