During spring of 2025, the Nordic Network of Global South Urbanisms (NEGSU) hosted a lecture series in collaboration with IUR, where five brilliant scholars were invited to give lectures for staff and students at Malmö University. The collection, including some post-lecture interviews with the scholars, is now available at IUR’s YouTube channel here.
The lectures include:
- Wangui Kimari (American University Nairobi): Water, coloniality, disobedience: The socio-ecological navigations of Nairobi’s outlaw geography
- Madina Tlostanova (Linköping University): The (no longer) post-Soviet: Postcolonial urban tempolocalities in fiction, film, and contemporary art
- Miguel Kanai (University of Sheffield): Southern urbanisms for a world in crisis: Repurposing infrastructure for life and care
- Tariq Jazeel (University College London): “The City” as text: Approaching the urban from elsewhere
- Kavita Ramakrishnan (University of East Anglia): Weathering the future: The body, the archive, and possibilities for intersectional climate justice
We invite you to watch the videos and reflect alongside us!
