Greetings from IUR researcher Hoai-Anh Tran who has been travelling and researching in Hanoi for her sabbatical year funded by Riksbanken Jubileumsfond.

For the past two months, she has been working on the in-between space between a traditional village and foreign-invested gated community in the peri-urban area of Hanoi. Her work will highlight the dynamics between state and society, urban and rural, formal and informal.

On December 7th, she will present her findings from interviews with the businesses-owners along this interstitial street, on the IUR Brown bags series with the title “Interstitial space at the peri-urban Hanoi: tensions and opportunities”
