Call for applications for a guest researcher position 2026
The IUR is looking for a visiting urban researcher for a one-month research stay at Malmö University between 3 February – 7 June 2026 or 25 August – 19 December 2026. The selected scholar will have the opportunity to conduct research at the IUR and participate in the Institute’s research activities.
The guest researchers’ actual presence in Malmö will be agreed upon before the start of the Spring term.
Profile and requirements
- You have experience with multidisciplinary research related to urban justice that can be connected to one of our four themes: Housing and Welfare, Urban Humanities, Green and Just Cities, and Global Urbanism.
- You have obtained a doctoral degree (PhD).
- You commit to presenting your research and research results in at least one seminar
for staff and one guest lecture for students. - You participate actively in the activities of the IUR.
- We strongly encourage the applicant to be a guest editor for our in-house popular
science journal Urban Matters.
We offer
- A stipend of 40 000 SEK.
- Reimbursement of accommodation and travel expenses as agreed upon.
