Building a diversity of knowledge, I work for socio-ecological change in everyday spaces. Focusing on the history and transformation of public and social areas in Northern Europe, my research looks across residents’ critical and creative use, normative frameworks for the built environment, and architectural paperwork. I have revealed techniques for combining social and technical expertise by activating archives, documents, oral histories or other memory material that record often uncomfortable histories of landscapes, buildings and structures associated with marginalisation.
