
Network “Nordic Urban Political Economy” meets at Malmö University.
The second “Nordic Urban Political Economy” network meeting took place last week at the IUR at Malmö University. Organized by IUR member Lina Olsson together with Özlem Celik, the forum was dedicated to discussing papers adopting a critical approach to urban political economy/ecology scrutinizing neoliberal urban transformations in the context of the Nordic welfare states at the national, regional and local scales.
Participants shared discussions around varieties of urban entrepreneurialism, restructuring of the local state, state rescaling, social reproduction, sustainability, green economy, and financialisation of built environments, including housing, real estate, and infrastructure.
