HouseEurope! is a registered non-profit policy lab based in Berlin, dedicated to the design and implementation of EU policy. Their team and working methods are rooted in architecture, with a focus on using legislation to promote the adaptation and reuse of existing buildings. Their goal is to promote a comprehensive reform of the construction sector across Europe, shifting the emphasis from new construction to transformation and care.
The policy lab has launched the European Citizens’ Initiative HouseEurope! Power to Renovation, advocating for EU legislation that makes renovations easier and more affordable while preventing the demolition of buildings that can instead be transformed and repaired.
