Call for proposals: Seed grants 2023
The Institute for Urban Research launches a call for seed grant proposals 2023. We do not have a maximum budget or a maximum number of grants in mind. We will try to meet demand as far as the budget allows (we have budgeted SEK 200 000 for all seed grants).
Aims
The aim of the seed grants is to foster research cooperation amongst IUR members together with urban researchers outside the IUR. They should create a platform that facilitates work with tangible research output such as publications, research proposals for external funding, workshops/seminars/conferences leading to future cooperation, outreach activities together with societal actors, exhibitions, artistic interventions, pilot studies to start up new projects or research proposals, amongst other possibilities.
Eligibility
Any constellation of applicants is possible as long as the main applicant is an IUR member. It is recommendable to have one or more junior researchers (PhD students, master students in a research internship) in the team. The applying team can include non-academic partners. Support for conference participation is possible if the applicant organizes a paper session that may lead to an edited book, a theme issue in a journal, or other tangible output.
How to apply
Send a project description of max. 600 words to guy.baeten@mau.se. The proposal should include:
- The purpose of the proposal
- The timeline of the proposal
- The expected tangible outcomes
- How the proposal adds value to the Institute of Urban Research
- A detailed budget
Deadline
The deadline for handing in the seed grant proposal is 28 February 2023. A decision will be made as soon as possible after that.
