Jiesper Tristan Pedersen

Jiesper Tristan Pedersen is an interdisciplinary researcher in future scenarios, urban and international sustainability, climate policy, energy and mobility. His research examines how climate knowledge, scenarios and sustainability interventions are translated into policy, urban planning and everyday practice and under what conditions they become credible, socially legitimate, policy-relevant and implementable. His work focuses on green and just urban transitions, including energy communities, shared mobility, municipal climate planning, land-use conflicts and the distribution of environmental benefits and burdens. He holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Climate Change from Utrecht University and a master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Copenhagen. He combines ethnography, interviews, surveys and co-production with scenario, policy analysis and policy-practice analysis. His experience includes mobility and urban-planning research at Roskilde University, municipal climate implementation in Copenhagen, and international research in Portugal, Kenya and Mozambique, alongside engagement with IPCC, UNFCCC and UNEP processes.
