Edgar Sarmulis is a doctoral student at Malmö University. Throughout his PhD he is participating and representing Malmö University in the EU-HORIZON project “Prefigure: Prototypes of Change: Addressing the Housing-Energy Nexus” where he is looking at the Freetown of Christiania and the Danish non-profit housing sector. Edgar’s main research interest lie in cross-country comparative research focusing on housing policies and provision. Besides that, normative standpoints of universal vs selective welfare policies, notions of social justice in housing provision, as well as the implementation and interpretation of everyone’s right to adequate housing in different local contexts – are all central themes in his previous work.
