Update: The Greening Your Research seminar on 14/4 has been postponed due to illness. We will return with a new date.
Within the Green and Just Cities theme at IUR, one of our main goals is to expand the profile and competence around research on the environmental dimensions of urban studies. As part of this ambition, we are launching a seminar series called “Greening Your Research”. The purpose of the Greening Your Research seminars is to provide a space for researchers at Malmö University/IUR to explore the environmental dimensions of their work in dialogue with colleagues, whether this be in relation to long-standing research topics or new and innovative ideas for future research. The “environmental dimensions” can capture a huge variety of issues, including climate change and emissions reduction, impacts on habitat and biodiversity, vulnerability to climate and weather extremes, implications for natural resource management, landscape and spatial planning, among many other possibilities.
At this first kick-off seminar, we will briefly introduce the Green and Just Cities theme, explain and discuss the intended purpose and structure of the Greening Your Research seminars, give some examples of what “greening” one’s research might look like, and to discuss among participants how to make the most of the seminar series in the future. All are welcome to come and help develop this seminar series so it can be as useful and productive as possible for all interested researchers at Malmö University. Hope to see you there!
