Come join us for a seminar organized within the Green and Just Cities theme at IUR where Krister Svensson from the International Play Association and lead of the project “Lekande Kvarter” will present the project concept and its outcomes, linking their empirical observations to more theoretical perspectives, starting with an article by Prof. Björn Eriksson: “Företrädare och ställföreträdare. Om sociala handlingspositioner, in Sociologisk forskning 1/2003”. Within the seminar we will raise and discuss questions such as “what are the consequences when a “folkrörelse” transforms into “civilsamhället”? Together with Krister, MAU researchers and teachers are invited to explore the function of “företrädare”, “ställföreträdare” and “sociala handlingspositioner” and how they appear within the context of a local community where Lekande kvarter operates (Malmö). This includes how they (företrädare och ställföreträdare) work from different handlingspositioner regarding whether they represent “society” or “civil society”. Following the roughly 45 min introduction of “Lekande Kvarter”, we will finish the seminar with a discussion of the project’s legacy within the community it has been implemented and explore how (new) academic knowledge and practice/collaboration might contribute to the continuation of the project’s objectives to provide all children with the opportunity to fulfill their basic right to play in the neighborhoods in which they live.
