My research interest span around a number of central issues relating to urban governance, democracy, power and policy analysis in contemporary city politics. I have written articles and reports on citizen participation and deliberative democracy, sustainable urban development politics, politics against segregation and their valence on the policy agenda, as well as the relation between racism, public’s, democracy and the opportunity for bottom-up democratization founded in the grass-roots activities of civil society. I hold a Ph.D. in Public Administration (University of Gothenburg 2012) and work as a senior lecturer and researcher at political science in the department of Global political studies. My research deals with issues of local democracy, power and policy processes in urban governance. I often conduct collaborative research processes with policy actors and civil society movements.
