Public transport and social sustainability in Malmö

Recently, several investments in public transport have been made to improve the communications to and from Rosengård. In 2014, a new BRT (bus rapid transit) system connecting Rosengård and Västra hamnen was established and in December 2018 a new train station was opened in Rosengård. This project studies with the help of focus groups how citizens of Rosengård perceive these changes in public transport and whether they have affected their transport behaviour. It makes use of the Capability Approach to analyse the social effects of these investments.
