K2 – the Swedish knowledge centre for public transport

2015 - 2025

K2 is an applied research centre and a joint venture between three research organizations and the three metropolitan regions in Sweden; Stockholm County Administration, the Region of Skåne and the Region of Västra Götaland. The three research organizations are Malmö University, Lund University and VTI – the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute. The organization is also funded by the National Road and Transport Administration, Vinnova and Formas. There are at present about 40 research projects running engaging almost 100 researchers of which about 10 are from Malmö University. K2 has 12 PhD students and 1 postdoctoral researcher. Representatives from industry are encouraged to take active part in the research activities.
