IUR becomes member of global network
The new year came with exciting news for the IUR. The Flemish Research Council has funded the initiative Urban Agency III:Towards a sustainable integration of disciplines in urban studies, a project where the IUR — among research groups of universities in Toronto, Berlin, Barcelona, Antwerp, Budapest, Vienna, Milan, Paris, Manchester, London, Ghent, Chicago, Brussels, Leuven, Leiden, and Amsterdam– will be working on the creation of a global network of institutes for urban research.
Urban Agency III starts in January 2021 and aims to (1) analyse and reflect on the impact of institutional contexts and path dependencies on the interdisciplinary character of urban studies and (2) to identify good practices and develop scientific propositions and recommendations for policymakers.
