Professor Iain Borden is invited by the IUR to give a lecture on

“Urban Space, Experience and Skateboarding”

In this talk, Iain introduces his thinking about urban space, with particular reference to the ideas of Henri Lefebvre, and how these can be developed in relation to architecture and cities. More specifically, skateboarding is discussed as a critical and performative act which raises various urban questions, including those of diverse identities, design of terrain, the importance of the human body, urban rights, architectural heritage and social cohesion.
